Mardi Himal trek:
If I said that Mardi Himal trek was permitted only in 2012 and just in seven years it's among the most preferred trekking destination of Nepal, will you believe me? Well, you have to believe me. Just in a few years, Mardi Himal trek is the most celebrated destination besides Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Base Camp. And there’s a reason for this emerging trekking trend – Mardi Himal trek is easy, unspoiled and still captitative.
For many years, this trail was accessed only by handful number of trekking groups with tents and their own catering team. The path would go through the beaten trails of shepherds as the place still provides summer grazing. Even now, there are only limited teahouses with the most basic facilities.
Along the way, we shall experience highly diverse with cultural insight, alpine landscape, and beautiful forest walks and. And as the trail stays along the ridge most of the time, altitude gain becomes more gradual. The trail goes along small winding paths, through thick rhododendron forests until you climb at an elevation around 3,300 meters. Then the landscape changes abruptly into a rugged high mountain with the prodigious views of Mardi Himal, Machapuchre (Fishtail), Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.
When to trek?
Mid Sept-October – November (Autumn Season) is Nepal´s peak time for trekking. March – May is the another best season to go trekking. December – January –February is the month for clear skies but the low temperature might make it tough.
May – June, the hot pre-monsoon season is hot and the valley with blooming flowers makes it a good time to trek.
June - Mid September, the Monsoon season is, however the least popular time to go trekking in Nepal. You might encounter leeches everywhere.
